Chinese New Year Dinner with the concept of 1 Malaysia in USM.




On 11th February, a 1Malaysia Chinese New Year Grand Dinner had been organized by the Persatuan Sains Farmasi USM at Eastin Hotel, Penang. This dinner is attended by more than 100 people. The dinner was awesome! Well done to the organizing committee lead by Tan Hong Huei for the marvelous dinner that night. We enjoy our dinner and we took lots of photos. We also learn a lot about the Chinese culture. For instance, now only i know that Chinese New Year is celebrated through out 13 days by different group in Chinese. 


      We also get to know about the God of Prosperity in Chinese New Year Celebration. Almost every race have a representative at this dinner. This shows that even though we have different cultures among race we still manage to celebrate it together and respect every cultures and believes. Besides that, we also have representative from Malay student to make a special performance on that day. Enjoy the video!

The Launching of 1Malaysia Youth Fund.



Last Friday Dato's Sri Najib Razak had launched 1Malaysia Youth Fund. He mention that a RM20 million grant had been allocate and stated in the 2011 Budget to finance ideas and projects by the youth in Malaysia. He believes that the government should engage with 'rakyat'.

The development of this fund actuallly promotes youth in Malaysia to work hand in hand no matter they come from which race to come out with brilliant project as a step to improve social development. He did mention in his blog entry titled: Youths of Malaysia, This is for You.
In order for our country to move forward, we must ensure that we have the human capital that is capable of carrying out the responsibilities of physical and social development. This means you, the youth and future of Malaysia, must prepare yourselves to take on these tasks. This Fund provides you with a platform to make such preparations and will act as the “tipping point” to execute these programmes or activities.

With this fund i believes lots of unexpected ideas can be gather among the youths thus shaping them into a future leader in the future. Those youths that are eager to explore and share their ideas and make it a reality will now have another support through this fund. This fund aim to polish and give a chance to the youth to show their capability hence molding them to become the next leader for our country. Its important to have capable human capital to sustain the development of our country and ensuring that our country would not fall in the hands of other country and and not to repeat the history of our country being in the hands of colonialist.





I hope all my fellow friends and the youth out there  will try to seize this opportunity and make a difference in the country.

    1Malaysia as a theme for the blog.



                 
                  This blog is created an the theme of 1 Malaysia had been chosen. To tell you the truth my family is also a multiracial family. We celebrate almost every big celebration or 'perayaan' as a family. My dad married to a Malay woman which is my mom and His sister married to a Chinese man. Even my cousin married to an Indian guy. My dad is a Eurasian which his family assimilate in Malaysia which turns out the family member to have mix-marriage. This is one of the reason why i choose 1 Malaysia as a theme for this blog. To be frank having a multiracial family makes me think differently and helps me in  a lot of area.Especially in improvingmy English. I do know how to speak mandarin although its only for a few words. I listen to chinese music, hindustani music and also malay music. We should be grateful to be born in such a unique country which holds many kind of races which makes us rich in unique cultures.

                 1Malaysia is intended to provide a free and open forum to discuss the things that matter deeply to us as a Nation. It provides a chance to express and explore the many perspectives of our fellow citizens. What makes Malaysia unique is the diversity of our peoples. 1Malaysia’s goal is to preserve and enhance this unity in diversity which has always been our strength and remains our best hope for the future. I hope this website will initiate an open and vital dialogue exploring our Malaysian identity, our purpose, and direction. I encourage each of you to join me in defining our Malaysia and the role we must play in its future. Each of us – despite our differences – shares a desire for a better tomorrow. Each of us wants opportunity, respect, friendship, and understanding.

    This shows that how serious 'perpaduan' is to improve our country as one nation. Without understanding each other and making bond between each other our country would not be a peaceful place to live in. I'm grateful to be a MALAYSIAN!
